Buy Orders Update
3 days ago by ANUB7S
You can now create and manage buy orders through the API. A buy order buys an item for you automatically once it's listed at or below your price, until the quantity you asked for is filled.
- Your open buy orders can total up to 10x your balance. Unlike on the site, you don't need to set up notifications before using buy orders through the API.
- Create a buy order with the create buy order endpoint using an item_id, asset_id or item_name. Use item_name if you don't have the item in your inventory, for example "★ Sport Gloves | Scarlet Shamagh (Field-Tested)".
- You can change the price or quantity with the update buy order endpoint. The item itself can't be changed, so create a new buy order instead.
- Buy orders are paused automatically if your balance is too low or a trade fails, and you can also pause them yourself with the pause endpoint. The reason is shown in pause_reason. You will need to resume them manually for them to work again.
Other
- Buy order changes are announced on the websocket with the new
buy_order_updateevent, so you don't need to poll the get buy orders endpoint. Once an item is being bought for your order, the event also includes the trade details in the same format astrade_status.
